
Avianca, TACA, and its subsidiary companies moved, between January and August 2011, a total of 13'510.000 passengers in their domestic and international routes network, which represents an increase of 18.8% versus the number of passengers transported in the same period of 2010.
Meanwhile, the airlines reported 1.9 million passengers carried in August, equivalent to 17.2% more than the number of passengers during the same month last year, when the figure was 1.6 million. The occupancy factor for the eighth month of 2011 was 79.1%.
Domestic market
In August 2011, all subsidiaries of AviancaTaca Holding SA achieved an increase of 21.4% in the number of passengers carried in domestic markets where they operate, with the transportation of more than 984.000 passengers, compared to 810.692 passengers carried in the same local markets in August 2010. The capacity, measured according to the available seats per mile flown, ASK's*, registered a growth of 26.8%. The occupancy in these markets stood at 73.7%.
International market
In the international network, the airlines affiliated to AviancaTaca Holding mobilized during the month of August 2011, a total of 881.725 passengers, representing an increase of 12.9% over the same month last year, when 781.239 passengers were mobilized. The capacity measured in ASK's*, grew an 11%. Occupancy, meanwhile, stood at 80.3%.
